Are B Corps the Future of Business?

Many of us familiar with the emergence of B Corps as a step businesses are taking in order to facilitate better business strategy and decision-making, and even The New Yorker is getting around to the topic. This relatively simple step, of embracing a governance model that goes beyond the narrow ‘maximize shareholder financial return’ fundamentalism that lies at the core of so much of what is rotten in our economy, is one of the key elements to a generational transformation (because that’s how long it will take) of the business economy, and it is a certain precursor to some serious policy steps that align market incentives with widely-accepted values. Triple Pundit is publishing a series on B Corps that everyone would do well to spend time reading, understanding its history, successes and failure, and its rapidly evolving place in discussions of business strategy.
