As we launch into a new year of cultivating a sustainable business community in Vancouver, I have exciting news to share with you! The Board of Change will be amalgamating with the Green Chamber of Commerce of BC and the Pacific Institute of Ecological Economics to create one unified organization under the Board of Change name.
In doing so, our combined forces with these two like-minded organizations allow us to
1. have a stronger voice
2. provide better benefits to our members and
3. enhance our portfolio of courses, events and activities.
Extensive board-to-board discussions over the past years made it abundantly clear that the three organizations operate in the overlapping space of sustainable, progressive and responsible business. We can be more efficient and impactful if we pool our resources, avoid needless duplication of efforts and collaborate to achieve our common goal: fostering a new economy where profit and sustainability are mutually reinforcing business pursuits, reflecting a shared vision that a group of businesses can be a catalyst for positive change and that business as usual won’t create a better world.
What does this mean for you? It means a bigger and better organization. On January 15th, we will announce the new organization to the wider community. Your membership with the Board of Change remains intact. Should you have any questions about your existing membership, membership renewals or new memberships, please contact membership coordinator Jay Brown at firstname.lastname@example.org.
As a result, the Board of Change will see five new board members added representing the amalgamated organization. I have every confidence that this decision is in the best interest of each respective organization and their memberships. Together we will amplify the voice of progressive business in the Greater Vancouver area and make strides towards to future we want to create.
Thank you for joining us on that journey. And stay tuned for further updates!
